4.5.20 CSGO Slate

Oh Boy! This slate sees the #1 and #2 teams in the world facing off for the first time on Draftkings. Salary also matters a great deal today, kudos to DK for rounding their process for pricing into shape. Stacks have been the way to go recently and there are a few great options on this slate that you can mix and match with your favorite one offs. As games become more serious and the stars are out in full force, there are going to be some enjoyable series to watch.

Draftkings’ scoring follows the chart shown below, with a focus on K/D and clutch plays. Rosters are set with a Captain position who receives 1.5x his points at 1.5x his salary, but beyond that it is positionless. This is important to understand because CS teams follow a composition of different roles such as IGL (In game leader), entry fragger, support, etc. With Draftkings making no distinction between players, it is left to you to decide which roles are most important within this scoring system and to take advantage of that. For several teams for example, their IGL is not often going to score highly as they may be less skilled at the game but are valuable in ways that Draftkings doesn’t record. With that in mind, I will jump into a quick look at the roles of key players, their key stats, and how their perceived performance should fare in accordance with their salary.

StatisticFantasy Points*Players drafted as Captain earn 1.5x fantasy point values

Our top plays are designed to show the most playable options on each team, factoring in performance and price. The top 2 plays on each team will be in our player pool and the third tier top plays are people we will sprinkle in a bit along with the core group. All of the statistics shown are for the last 3 months to see who has been performing well recently while still keeping a significant sample size. Good luck to everyone and we are always looking for feedback on how to improve the readability of our content!

HAVU(-115) V Cloud9(-112)  (12:00 PM EST)

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundImpact

Today’s slate kicks off with one of the most even matchups of the day. The problem with that is that there are no obvious plays here. HAVU has mostly relied on a 3-man rotation of doto, ZOREE, and sLowi recently with the occasional decent game from hoody. If hoody was cheaper, he may have found his way into a few of our lineups, but we will mostly be focusing on the other 3. It’s hard to choose between them, but ZOREE has been the most consistent, while doto has had the highest ceiling recently. We have ordered them as such, but are not opposed to a 3-man stack as there is a chance they could take this series 2-0.

Top Plays: ZOREE, doto, sLowi

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundImpact

Much like their opponents, Cloud9 have been led by the trio of motm, oSee, and floppy, and we don’t see that changing here. While floppy is cheaper than the other 2, he may be their most consistent player beside oSee, and he comes at a decent discount. Motm has the highest ceiling, but also the lowest floor, so we will use him sparingly. A 3-man stack here could be a decent option, but it is fairly expensive and in a series this close, you may want to look elsewhere.

Top plays: floppy, oSee, motm

Astralis(-143) V NaVi(+110)  (12:00 PM EST)

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundImpact

The match of the day sees #2 Astralis take on #1 NaVi in a must-watch series. If you are just here for degenerate gambling and don’t care about CS:GO, this is the one series you have to watch. NaVi has beaten Astralis in their last two matches and you know Astralis has been putting in extra work for that to not happen again. They come in as favorites today on the back of a solid 4 game win streak. Device is their best player, but Astralis is best known for their impressive teamwork rather than individual talents. Dupreeh, gla1ve, and Xyp9x are all perfectly capable of putting up big stat lines, and Magisk has been known to have a big game every now and then. Given their prices and their past performances, we find it hard to put much faith in these guys for fantasy purposes and will likely be underweight on them.

Top plays:  None, device, dupreeh/gla1ve/Xyp9x

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundImpact

The best player in the world leads this powerhouse team and you’ll be hard pressed to find another top performer as consistent as s1mple anywhere. He should be $10000 and enjoy the savings while you can. Nobody else on Earth possesses his ability to put up gaudy numbers. Electronic is his right hand man for destroying the hopes and dreams of other teams and this series should be no different. Boombl4 has had a great deal of success against Astralis but is not as consistent a player as the aforementioned guys. A two or three man stack here will be used a lot and will likely be the chalk way to go here.

Top plays: simple, electronic, Boombl4

MAD Lions(-256) V FPX(+189)  (3 PM EST)

MAD Lions:

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundImpact

We are expecting MAD Lions to steamroll FPX in this series, so we are looking at a couple guys here. AcoR is very underpriced in relation to his potential and this team could be a solid stack at a discount to some of the other favorites on this slate. While Bubzkji has been great recently, we like sjuush a little more for his consistency at a discounted price. Rocking out a 3 man MAD Lions stack could be the best way to go tonight and it leaves a good amount of salary to plug in some other big names into your lineup.

Top plays: sjuush, Bubzkji, acoR

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundImpact

FPX pulled off the unlikely victory yesterday over c0ntact and faces a tall task in a hot MAD Lions squad here. They are hefty underdogs here and not in a good spot to perform at all. Playing dapr as a one off isn’t crazy as he’s FPX’s only consistent player, but this is a team we will mostly be avoiding.

Top plays: dapr

mousesports(-189) V OG(+143)  (4:00 PM EST)

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundImpact

Mouz comes in against an up and down OG team that managed to beat Vitality yesterday in a strange series. In their last matchup, OG beat mouz 2-1 and frozen and ropz were unsurprisingly 2 of the best performers in that series. Frozen has particularly been playing well and his salary is perfectly set here at $8000. Ropz is a good secondary option but comes behind our ratings for Frozen. Woxic has been floated around here as a great third wheel play for a 3 man stack if you’re confident in mouz here, but he probably shouldn’t have much exposure beyond that scenario.

Top plays: frozen, ropz, woxic

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundImpact

OG is that team that we all never understand their success. We bet against them constantly and they somehow manage to beat teams we never think they should beat. Even though they just beat Vitality, not a single OG player had more kills than deaths, which is crucial for fantasy scoring. We do not see them beating a strong mousesports team, and therefore will not be playing any of them. If you really believe in OG, mantuu and valde are their only somewhat consistent performers, but they are way too expensive to be viable fantasy options.

Top plays: none

MiBR(-156) V Gen.G(+120)  (4:00 PM EST)

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundImpact

MiBR’s terrific trio continues to gel on their way into the playoffs. FalleN, fer, and kNgV are their go-to guys and it’s just a matter of figuring out who tops their scoreboard on any given day. Fallen and fer are our 2 to target here, but we do have a preFERence. It’s fer. His discounted price allows you to fit in some other studs around him, and he had a big performance against this same GenG squad 2 weeks ago. A 3 way stack can pay big dividends here if MiBR sweeps GenG, which they are very capable of.

Top plays: fer, Fallen, KngV

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundImpact

After a swift 2-0 against Dignitas, GenG gets rewarded with their third match against MiBR in the past 2 weeks. GenG only one 1 map out of 5 between those 2 series, and koosta was their only player that performed well across the board. He has also been their best player in general recently, and will likely be the only player from this team that we use as a 1 off. Keep in mind that these guys didn’t roll over against MiBR in the past, and they have some potential for an upset here. We do not believe that will happen, but making a couple team stacks with koosta, autimatic, and BnTet just in case wouldn’t be the worst idea.

Top plays: koosta, autimatic, BnTeT

  1. Awesome work so far team! I think a way you can make this article 20x better if you maybe included a core 4.
