4.6.20 CSGO Slate

This slate is fun but likely the toughest one we’ve had so far in terms of roster building. There are plenty of higher priced options with the talent to back it up but much less in terms of value plays. S1mple and Niko will be heavy chalk again and can be faded at your own risk given their potential. If you want to lock in a couple of superstars, try to pick your value guys based on what team they are on and if you think they will win. A bad player on a solid team can fare okay, but a bad player on a bad team (like all of Tyloo) will likely never help you cash. GLHF

Draftkings’ scoring follows the chart shown below, with a focus on K/D and clutch plays. Rosters are set with a Captain position who receives 1.5x his points at 1.5x his salary, but beyond that it is positionless. This is important to understand because CS teams follow a composition of different roles such as IGL (In game leader), entry fragger, support, etc. With Draftkings making no distinction between players, it is left to you to decide which roles are most important within this scoring system and to take advantage of that. For several teams for example, their IGL is not often going to score highly as they may be less skilled at the game but are valuable in ways that Draftkings doesn’t record. With that in mind, I will jump into a quick look at the roles of key players, their key stats, and how their perceived performance should fare in accordance with their salary.

Our top plays are designed to show the most playable options on each team, factoring in performance and price. The top 2 plays on each team will be in our player pool and the third tier top plays are people we will sprinkle in a bit along with the core group. All of the statistics shown are for the last 3 months to see who has been performing well recently while still keeping a significant sample size. Good luck to everyone and we are always looking for feedback on how to improve the readability of our content!

fnatic(+160) V Astralis(-213)  (8:25 AM EST)

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundImpact

Fnatic is in a tough spot here against Astralis. Despite recent success, fnatic has struggled against the better teams in CS and have particularly been put down by Astralis. Flusha and KRIMZ are both more than capable of paying off their depressed salaries under the right circumstances, but you’re taking a risk plugging them in. We really can’t justify paying $8200 for Brollan on this slate at all and we will be fading him.

Top Plays: None, KRIMZ, flusha

Astralis lost a big game yesterday to NaVi but are in a good position to rebound here. As always, this team is a mess to predict due to their style of play. They more so resemble the team-first play style of the Spurs rather than a star studded Laker squad whose performance is driven by the top guys. That being said, device is the most talented player on the roster but his price is oppressive here. Xyp9x has surprisingly been the team’s most consistent performer recently, and as the second cheapest option on the team, he will likely be the start to our stacks. With the balanced nature of this lineup, there is a good chance that they all perform well, so we will utilize them more in team stacks and not so much as 1 offs.

Top plays: Xyp9x, device, dupreeh, gla1ve

OG(+189) V NaVi(-256)  (12:00 PM EST)

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundImpact

Fresh off a 0-2 loss to mousesports, OG now gets to face the #1 team in the world. Although the games seemed close on paper, OG didn’t play too well against mouz, and we don’t expect them to do any better against NaVi. If s1mple decides to try playing with his monitor turned off, some guys here could be playable though. In that bizarre case, mantuu is the only player that would really be worth a look, but valde or Aleksib could also get positive fantasy points here.

Top plays: mantuu?

S1mple and company are up again, facing a weaker OG squad.Electronic is an obvious #2 here but his price is difficult to swallow on a slate that is tight with value options. If this series goes 2-0, there could be some great value from flamie and Boombl4, but they could kill a roster if the series goes another direction. Boombl4 looked great yesterday and his lower salary makes him our second favorite play for this big favorite behind s1mple as we are expecting a 2-0 here.

Top plays: s1mple, Boombl4, electronic, flamie

mousesports(-120) V FaZe(-108)  (4 PM EST)

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundImpact

Mouz played a great game yesterday and have nearly even betting odds against FaZe. A four game winning streak and a 2-1 series victory in their last time facing FaZe should instill some confidence in the team and there are a few players in a good spot to perform again. Ropz and frozen are a great 1-2 punch for this squad and both carried the load in their last matchup with FaZe. Their prices are a good reflection of their potential, if not a tad under where it could be. Each player makes for a good 1 off, and they pair together very well.

Top plays: ropz, frozen

You should know by now that nearly every time that Niko is on a slate, he is one of the favorites to put up the most points of anyone. In a 2-1 loss last time against mouz, he still managed to go +19 as the rest of his team folded unsurprisingly. We’ll see if they can flip the script this time around, but Niko’s performance is the one thing that can be counted on. Rain has considerable upside at $5800 but carries a great deal of risk. This slate is begging for value and rain could be that guy here. Broky and coldzera are in the same boat but their middling prices make them more suited for a team stack than anything else.

Top plays: Niko, rain, coldzera/broky
