Another day brings the same 6 teams again for your viewing pleasure. Yesterday brought us 2 dominant 2-0 series and a 2-1 series that was more of a nail biter. Check out our daily rewind article for a more in depth review of that slate, but here we’ll see the big favorite of the day and a few top guys to build around. Stay safe and glhf.
Draftkings’ scoring follows the chart shown below, with a focus on K/D and clutch plays. Rosters are set with a Captain position who receives 1.5x his points at 1.5x his salary, but beyond that it is positionless. This is important to understand because CS teams follow a composition of different roles such as IGL (In game leader), entry fragger, support, etc. With Draftkings making no distinction between players, it is left to you to decide which roles are most important within this scoring system and to take advantage of that. For several teams for example, their IGL is not often going to score highly as they may be less skilled at the game but are valuable in ways that Draftkings doesn’t record. With that in mind, we will jump into a quick look at the roles of key players, their key stats, and how their perceived performance should fare in accordance with their salary.
|Statistic||Fantasy Points*Players drafted as Captain earn 1.5x fantasy point values|
|Entry Kill (First Kill of the round)||+0.5 Pts|
|1v2 Clutch||+1 Pt|
|1v3 Clutch||+2 Pts|
|1v4 Clutch||+3 Pts|
|1v5 Clutch||+5 Pts|
|Quad Kill||+3 Pts|
|Game Length adjustment||Adjustment for 30 max rounds (A players score gets multiplied by 30 and divided by number of rounds played)|
Our top plays are designed to show the most playable options on each team, factoring in performance and price. The top 2 plays on each team will be in our player pool and the third tier top plays are people we will sprinkle in a bit along with the core group. All of the statistics shown are for the last 3 months to see who has been performing well recently while still keeping a significant sample size. Good luck to everyone and stay safe!
FNC(+118) V Mouz(-154) (8:25 AM EST)
Our first game of the day brings a hot mouz squad against fnatic. They are likely outgunned here but don’t discount them entirely. KRIMZ is a guy that has held his own even in losses and his price here makes him very approachable. Tread carefully with the rest of the squad as they could flush your hopes and dreams down the toilet.
Top Plays: KRIMZ, none, Brollan/flusha
Mouz has looked unstoppable recently and they are great for fantasy purposes given how their talent is condensed at the top. This feels like a spot where they should be bigger favorites than the current betting lines suggest and we love ropz and frozen again and will likely continue pairing them. Their only downside is their (finally) high pricing. Woxic also seems to have an advantage in this matchup as their AWPer and we like him for a 3 stack. At $5200, a few lineups will have to take a flyer on chrisj, one of yesterday’s top 10 (7th) scorers.
Top plays: frozen/ropz, woxic, chrisj
NaVi(-172) V FaZe(+131) (12:00 PM EST)
S1mple has yet to put up an awe inspiring fantasy performance so far but if anybody can deliver that, it’s FaZe. He should feast on oof-meister and company and should be interested in stroking his ego against Niko. He’s had mixed performances against them recently but the current struggles of his teammates should put more weight on his capable shoulders. Electronic and perfecto of all people have been doing their best to support him and can be playable at solid prices. Their last 2 matchups ended 2-1 in favor of NaVi so this might not be the matchup to stack on this slate, but you never know.
Top plays: s1mple, electronic, perfecto
This team needs an IGL desperately. When the commentators are predicting what you are doing and begging for ingenuity, it’s clear you need help. Coldzera is ice cold, broky looks broken, and we still have no idea how olofmeister is still employed. Rain would be the top scorer every day if you got a first death bonus and poor NiKo has to be looking for a clause in his contract that can let him escape this band of misfits. They are slight underdogs here and although they match up decently on paper, it’s hard to find positives here. Niko and coldzera were their top performers in both of the last 2 series against NaVi and FaZe fans can try to make a deal with the devil to have them pull this one out, but something’s got to give.
Top plays: NiKo, ehh, coldzera
Astralis(-345) V OG(+245) (4 PM EST)
Astralis is the biggest favorite on the slate and their prices keep jumping around due to the topsy turvy performances this squad brings. Gla1ve was a solid play yesterday due to his very cheap price but he’s less appealing at $5800. The rest of the guys are in play here and you have to measure consistency over price. Device and dupreeh are the best bets to lock in great totals, but magisk and Xyp9x have literally the same upside at a big discount. In fact, Xyp9x has been their top performer for the past few series and is pretty heavily discounted compared to his teammates. In a great opportunity for a 2-0, you can’t really go wrong trying out different pairs of these guys, but we worry that gla1ve may continue his bottom fragging ways, even in a good matchup.
Top plays: Xyp9x, device/dupreeh, magisk
OG should be in for a world of hurt here but we’ve seen a few players manage to put up solid stat lines even in losses, especially mantuu. He seems to never die, regardless of winning or losing and this helps him put up a great performance even in the eyes of defeat. He has the second highest k/d in the ESL and is priced like a middling player. He can be a sneaky value play here and is one of our target guys on the slate as a whole.
Top plays: mantuu
