4.9.20 CSGO Slate

This is quite the 6 game slate. Salaries are up across the board and value is going to be more meaningful than ever. We have a powerhouse mouz V Astralis matchup, a large favorite in MAD Lions over FPX, and everything in between on this slate. We have a dozen guys priced at $8k or higher and a bunch of toss-up series. This is a day you need to make a bunch of lineups for GPPs to be competitive. We have added a new stat for players, KAST. This stands for the percentage of rounds where the player either: got a kill, got an assist, survived, or was traded. A higher number should indicate better fantasy performance.

Draftkings’ scoring follows the chart shown below, with a focus on K/D and clutch plays. Rosters are set with a Captain position who receives 1.5x his points at 1.5x his salary, but beyond that it is positionless. This is important to understand because CS teams follow a composition of different roles such as IGL (In game leader), entry fragger, support, etc. With Draftkings making no distinction between players, it is left to you to decide which roles are most important within this scoring system and to take advantage of that. For several teams for example, their IGL is not often going to score highly as they may be less skilled at the game but are valuable in ways that Draftkings doesn’t record. With that in mind, I will jump into a quick look at the roles of key players, their key stats, and how their perceived performance should fair in accordance with their salary.

StatisticFantasy Points*Players drafted as Captain earn 1.5x fantasy point values

Our top plays are designed to show the most playable options on each team, factoring in performance and price. The top 2 plays on each team will be in our player pool and the third tier top plays are people we will sprinkle in a bit along with the core group. All of the statistics shown are for the last 3 months to see who has been performing well recently while still keeping a significant sample size. Good luck to everyone and we are always looking for feedback on how to improve the readability of our content!

OG(+163) V FaZe(-217) (12:25 PM EST)

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundKASTImpact

OG was manhandled by Astralis yesterday and comes into this game as the underdog yet again. Mantuu has been an incredible player and fantasy value and his price still has not crept up to where it should be. He is a great one off option given his uncanny ability to post a great k/d regardless of the game’s outcome and the rest of his team is a trashcan you can ignore.

Top Plays: mantuu

FaZe looked unbeatable up until the halfway point of map 2 yesterday before the wheels came off and they ultimately dropped the series to NaVi. NiKo was spectacular again, doing all he could to salvage the series. They are now on a 4 game losing streak that can likely end here but hoping for a 2-0 maybe going a bit too far. Rain and broky are the only other players on this team to post a positive k/d within the last 3 games and are not particularly convincing picks but they can be paired in tandem with NiKo if you think this series is where they right the ship.

Top plays: NiKo, none, rain/broky

FNC(+110) V NaVi(-143) (12:25 PM EST)

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundKASTImpact

Fnatic and NaVi split their last two series with them going 2-0 in favor of NaVi and 2-1 for fnatic. KRIMZ was a consistent high performer in both series and has also been playing well as of late. His price is not too exaggerated here and could be a great one off option. Brollan is in a similar position but maybe a slight step behind KRIMZ and if you foresee another fnatic victory here a pair of the two makes sense.

Top plays:  KRIMZ, Brollan

Boombl4 has finally seen his price come down but there is likely more to come. He and flamie have been abysmal, leaving s1mple to have to drop 30 kills to will his team to victory. Electronic is a great complementary player from time to time and we think this may be a positive matchup for him here.

Top plays: s1mple, electronic

mouz(+125) V A(-164) (12:25 PM EST)

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundKASTImpact

Mouz suffered a surprising defeat yesterday and face a tough task in the legendary Astralis team here. Ropz and frozen have been two of our favorite guys but in such a tough matchup, those salaries cannot be excused. There is plenty of opportunity for them both to light up the scoreboard but with 5 other games you don’t have to be stuck here. Use caution paying that against such a team as Astralis.

Top plays: None, ropz/frozen

FPX(+283) V MAD(-435) (1:00 PM EST)

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundKASTImpact

To be blunt, FPX just got dumpstered by this MAD squad and we see no reason why this should be much different. Mitch was okay and dapr not too terrible but the rest of the squad looked like potatoes. There are some decent players here and their low prices could pay off if they flip the script but it’s so hard to find a reason to believe in them.

Top plays: none, ehh, mitch

MAD Lions are the largest favorites on the slate and will likely be highly owned. There is massive upside for acoR in this position at a crazy low price. He’s an up and down player with as much upside as any guy here and a plus matchup makes him a great value target. These teams just played each other and acoR played terribly, which can lower his ownership and be sneaky spot. Or he could blow it again but we need value on this slate and we’ll roll the dice. Bubzkji is nearly always their top performer and sjuush and roeJ have both been in great form lately. Although another 2-0 stomp is not a guarantee, this is one of the better spots on the slate to target to stack, and everyone else will be doing it so fade at your own risk.

Top plays: acoR/Bubzkji, roeJ/sjuush

MiBR(+129) V FUR(-169) (4:00 PM EST)

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundKASTImpact

Despite a 5 game winning streak, MiBR finds themselves as a slight underdog here against a FURIA team that bested them 2-1 in their last matchup. KNgV has the best price of their top 3 but has been so boom and bust recently that we have to tread lightly there, although he did well in his last series with FUR. Fer is equally capable of top fragging here with less downside risk than kNgV, slotting him in as our top play for them here. FalleN is certainly capable of doing well, but he and the rest of this team are hard to target as underdogs on a big slate.

Top plays: kNgV, fer, FalleN

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundKASTImpact

KSCERATO went a nuclear +25 in their last series against MiBR and has been mostly filthy recently as well. He is very expensive here but could carry a lineup if he pulls off a similarly spectacular line this time around. These guys are priced a bit high for how close of a matchup this is, but yuurih is in a similar situation as KSCERATO at a discount. If you feel strongly about another win, possibly in 2-0 fashion, that 2 man stack can pay dividends.

Top plays: KSCERATO, yuurih

GenG(-139) V C9(+107) (4:00 PM EST)

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundKASTImpact

Koosta and BnTet have been the real leaders in the scoreboard and can you tell a big difference between them? The $1600 discount for BnTeT accounts for his tendency to disappear and disappoint at times but that’s the type of well priced risk you’re going to have to take on larger slates to help afford the big boys and stacks you want.

Top plays: BnTeT, koosta

PlayerSalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundKASTImpact

Cloud9 has been playing good Counter Strike recently but still comes in as a minor underdog. Floppy has been their consistent leader and although he’s the safest pick his price is a bit hard to justify with some of the other matchups on the slate. This should leave his ownership low enough to be a solid contrarian play from the field and he can be paired with either motm or oSee. We have a preference for motm given he’s a more consistent performer and at a slight discount to oSee. A 3 man stack could be a wild value if they 2-0 the series, but a 2-1 split is probably more likely.

Top plays: floppy, motm, oSee
