4.11.20 CSGO Slate

Fanduel has brought back CS for this slate, ignoring the Flashpoint games for a tiny 2 game offering. We have a full 4 games on Draftkings and both sites are featuring the rematch of Astralis and mouz which should be a fun series if it’s not a bludgeoning like last time. They are the largest favorite on the slate with betting lines for everyone else being fairly even. Fanduel will be a mess with only 2 games and we will likely be avoiding it. If you haven’t played on it yet, maybe find a cheap tournament to play around with the team slot and roster strategies. Other than that, enjoy some great games and have a safe weekend.

Draftkings’ scoring follows the chart shown below, with a focus on K/D and clutch plays. Rosters are set with a Captain position who receives 1.5x his points at 1.5x his salary, but beyond that it is positionless. This is important to understand because CS teams follow a composition of different roles such as IGL (In game leader), entry fragger, support, etc. With Draftkings making no distinction between players, it is left to you to decide which roles are most important within this scoring system and to take advantage of that. For several teams for example, their IGL is not often going to score highly as they may be less skilled at the game but are valuable in ways that Draftkings doesn’t record. With that in mind, I will jump into a quick look at the roles of key players, their key stats, and how their perceived performance should fair in accordance with their salary.

mouz(+181) V Astralis(-244) (12:25 PM EST)

mouz:

PlayerDK SalaryFD SalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundKASTImpact
ropz$8200$108001.180.7873.50%1.09
frozen$7800$106001.170.7573.70%1.12
woxic$7400$93001.050.6571.40%0.99
chrisj$5400$85000.970.5969.50%0.93
karrigan$5200$86000.930666.80%0.94

We all know what just happened in this matchup 2 days ago and mouz was beyond embarrassed. They will be on a mission to make up for that awful showing but do they have it in them? They are an interesting play at still-elevated prices and likely reduced ownership. This of course comes with the risk that they are blown out of the water. You can likely continue avoiding the bottom feeders on this roster but ropz and frozen need to carry to reverse their fortunes. The team slot on Fanduel should likely be faded, as EG is the favorite and can be had cheaper than this risky mouz team.

Astralis:

gla1ve$7200$94001.030.6271.70%0.99

Astralis decimated mouz in soul-crushing fashion and will be trying to stay one step ahead of them to do it again here. It is implausible to think they can repeat their performance but they are still the largest favorite of the slate and have strong stacking potential. Interestingly, Xyp9x is only $7400, even though he has been Astralis’ best player recently (behind magisk of course). Xyp9x does have a higher floor than magisk though, so he is our favorite player here. Notice how he is the most expensive player on the entire slate on FanDuel. Magisk is still 3rd on this team, but due to his recent play, he can’t be ignored. The Astralis team spot is the most expensive option and hard to justify when you want to lock top players in. We are mostly looking for EG to fill this spot and save our salary for players but you do you if you think Astralis will curb stomp mouz yet again.

GenG(-182) V FPX(+138) (1:00 PM EST)

GenG:

PlayerDK SalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundKASTImpact
koosta$8,0001.120.770.30%1.17
s0m$7,0001.120.7173.60%1.06
autimatic$6,8001.120.772.90%1.08
BnTeT$6,4001.110.6873.60%1.01
daps$5,0000.960.5770%0.82

GenG comes in as the favorite over a weak FPX, and for good reason. This FPX team is atrocious outside of dapr, and I have a hard time seeing them win a map here. I wish koosta was a little cheaper, but he is still the best player on this team of inconsistency. Autimatic is the most common #2 here, usually followed by BnTeT, so we will be playing them as well when we stack this team. Assuming this is a 2-0, there should be some big scores from GenG and a stack could pay big dividends.

ptr$48001.090.6473.70%1.01
jonji$46001.130.772.60%1.21

Dapr’s dapper stats come in at a heavily discounted $7600 on this slate and that cannot be ignored. This price is due largely to how terrible his supporting cast is and not winning a game can limit the upside a player has in fantasy. On the flip side, due to the game length adjustment, dapr could also benefit greatly from a 2-0 sweep if he can put up the big statlines he’s been known for. FPX’s last few games haven’t been close at all, but this should be an easier matchup and dapr should be able to put up a good score here. Everyone else is priced how they are for a reason.

ORG(-172) V chaos(+131) (3:15 PM EST)

ORG:

FNS$60000.950.5870%0.84
yay$58001.040.6770%1.01

This is a matchup of 2 teams we usually try to avoid, but with Chaos’ recent play, we are looking at the ORG guys for solid value. Since the top 3 guys here are basically the same price, it’s going to be tough to choose between them. All 3 of them have had great and terrible performances recently, with Infinite generally being the most consistent. WARDELL and Subroza have higher ceilings, but are also more prone to blow-ups that can sink your lineups. If you can only fit one, we would suggest duplicating that lineup with each of these guys if you are able to. A team stack here could pay big dividends at a cheap price against a terrible Chaos team.

Well they won 11 rounds today, only 5 away from winning a map! Unfortunately, those 11 rounds came in 2 games, so they’re still a ways away. These guys kind of suck, if you couldn’t tell by them being underdogs to a meme team. While steel is easily their best player, there are other, better options at his price. He very well could put up a big performance here, and this is a great matchup to do so, but we will mostly be looking elsewhere. Using steel as a one off in lineups without ORG players could be a good idea if this series is closer than expected though.

EG(-156) V FURIA(+120) (4:00 PM EST)

EG:

PlayerDK SalaryFD SalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundKASTImpact
Brehze$7800101001.130.7671.30%1.18

tarik$620090000.980.6370.30%0.92
stanislaw$560084000.910.5667.10%0.88

EG are slight favorites but we feel more strongly about them than that. They bested FURIA 2-1 in their last showing and it was a competitive series. Brehze and CeRq happened to be their only positive performers and they are the most playable guys here as usual. EG also happens to be the cheapest team slot on Fanduel and should be a great value option despite scoring 62.5 last time in this same spot. We are not sure why they are cheaper than FUR as the favorite but who cares, save some money if you feel as strongly about EG as we do.

Top plays: Brehze, CeRq/Team spot (FD)

FUR:

VINI$6000$97000.990.6467.40%0.98

As mentioned, FURIA was just handled by these guys but that wasn’t a result of poor performances by KSCERATO or yuurih, as they had the 2 best kill differentials in the series. Yuurih is underpriced on Draftkings compared to his teammates, but is just about right on Fanduel. HEN1 was also positive in the last series and has been doing well recently. We are not in love with him here but he makes more sense on Fanduel as his price there is solid. We see him more as a third wheel on a contrarian team stack if you’re going for an upset. The team slot is in play only if you feel they will win strongly, which we don’t. Pay up for Astralis or down for EG.
Top plays: yuurih (DK), KSCERATO/yuurih (FD), HEN1
