4.12.20 CSGO Slate

We have a tiny 2 game slate ahead of us here. These series are a best of 5 for the grand finals and Liquid is starting with a 1-0 map lead as they came from the higher bracket. This seemingly has huge implications for game length adjustments as the fnatic/mouz series does not have a 1 map handicap. If we see a Liquid sweep, the top players will see massive game length adjustments, beyond what’s even possible in the fnatic series. On Fanduel, it seems like the inverse is true given the lack of game length adjustments and only a generic sweep bonus that is indifferent to the number of maps played. More maps will equal more points so Fanduel will be all mouz and fnatic. Weird day! Good luck, stay safe, and game on.

*Updated for Fanduel Slate that was just put up, we are ignoring the DK Flashpoint that was also just put up because the contests suck and you can literally just get all the top players because they screwed up the salaries*

Draftkings’ scoring follows the chart shown below, with a focus on K/D and clutch plays. Rosters are set with a Captain position who receives 1.5x his points at 1.5x his salary, but beyond that it is positionless. This is important to understand because CS teams follow a composition of different roles such as IGL (In game leader), entry fragger, support, etc. With Draftkings making no distinction between players, it is left to you to decide which roles are most important within this scoring system and to take advantage of that. For several teams for example, their IGL is not often going to score highly as they may be less skilled at the game but are valuable in ways that Draftkings doesn’t record. With that in mind, I will jump into a quick look at the roles of key players, their key stats, and how their perceived performance should fare in accordance with their salary.

All of the statistics shown are for the last 3 months to see who has been performing well recently while still keeping a significant sample size. Good luck to everyone and we are always looking for feedback on how to improve the readability of our content!

mouz(-130) V fnatic(+100) (10:25 AM EST)

(DK) This best of 5 series will be fun and betting lines expect it to be a close series. This also means the upside of these guys is restricted relative to the Liquid series. Ropz and frozen are 2 of the most talented players on this slate but they are also the most expensive and limited by their series. If you can work in their salaries then go for it, but you have to understand the dynamic of this slate.

(FD) Fanduel is going to reward this series over the Liquid series due to their scoring system that looks at raw stats and has no game length adjustments. This skyrockets ropz and frozen to the top plays for Fanduel, but their prices are difficult. Look to pair them with a cheaper option here for a 3 man stack. Their team spot is also somehow the lowest on the slate (the other game doesn’t exist, ignore them), so we are locking that in.

Top DK Plays: No first, ropz/frozen, woxic

Top FD Plays: ropz/frozen/team spot, woxic/chrisj

(DK) Fnatic are slight underdogs despite sweeping mouz in a series that showed KRIMZ hard carry with a +18. He’s very cheap and can be a decent one off along with your stack of the other series. We could see solid upside from Brollan and flusha but there isn’t much of a reason to target them on this day.

(FD) KRIMZ and Brollan come at a nice discount relative to the ropz and frozen combo but they do have a difference in upside potential. Regardless, a longer series here will lead to lots of opportunities for guys on both sides of the coin to put up fantasy points in bunches on Fanduel and this game can be stacked. Their team spot is just $100 more than mousesports, so you will want to fit it in if you are stacking FNC players.

Top DK plays: KRIMZ, no second, Brollan/flusha

Top FD Plays: KRIMZ, Brollan, flusha

EG(+277) V Liquid(-400) (4:00 PM EST)

(DK) With the 1-0 handicap for Liquid, this series is the key to the day for fantasy. Liquid and EG have seemingly played each other every day with little success on the EG side. That being said, CeRq has gone +8 or better in both showings and we saw a big +18 from Brehze in their series that went 2-1. This game has a built-in GLA advantage over the other matchup due to the handicap and if Liquid sweeps and CeRq or Brehze can go positive, they will put up massive point totals in this spot. Be careful playing some of the other guys here who have had more success recently, the handicap also exacerbates downside risk.

(FD) We are looking at this game to find the 1 player you are required to have on Fanduel from a different game. All of these guys are too expensive and the short series potential makes them difficult to justify unless you believe in an upset.

Top DK plays:  CeRq, Brehze

Top FD Plays: Meh

(DK) Here is your chalk of the day ladies and gentlemen. This liquid team has more upside potential than anybody else on the slate and that’s math, not our opinion (but also our opinion). With a 1-0 handicap from the beginning, they can sweep the series with only 2 wins whereas the other game requires a minimum of 3 maps to be played. If we see a sweep, any top performers will see a massive game length adjustment beyond what is possible elsewhere. Even a 2-1 win is the same as a sweep in the other series. Fnatic and mouz are evenly matched and we are unlikely to see a sweep there, putting this series at a major advantage for fantasy purposes. All the players here can be reasonably rostered and the last 2 series against EG have shown dominance from EliGE, the likely highest owned player on this slate. At $8200, he will quite literally be in almost every lineup we all build and in the captain position for many of them as well. These guys are not priced with the handicap in mind and we will likely see a 3 man stack win it all if this series is over quickly. Fade these guys at your own risk, a performance like mouz put up the other day against Astralis is the only thing that could rain on this parade.

(FD) Stewie, Twistzz, and nitr0 are all cheap and can be your one off to satisfy the roster requirements. Seriously though, given how we see these two games playing out, it’s like you’re playing a 2 game NBA slate and have prior knowledge of which game is going to double overtime….it’s almost unfair and stupid.

Top DK plays: EliGE/NAF, Twistzz/Stewie2k, nitr0

Top FD Plays: None, none, Stewie2k/Twistzz/nitr0
