4.12.20 LOL LEC/LCS Slate

Well, this LEC matchup is going to be hard to anticipate. Prior to playoffs starting, G2 would be heavy favorites despite Origen’s strength. After their showing against Mad Lions… we really don’t know. Origen did well against Rogue, while G2’s only playoff performance was a disaster. It’s possible G2 just had an incredibly strange series, and they are ready to reach the top once more. They did win 2 games against Mad Lions, and looked pretty on point, so who knows. This kind of unpredictability leaves only one thing certain: this will be a very interesting series.

As we discussed above, this could be a very interesting matchup. G2 fell apart against Mad Lions, but it’s entirely possible they underestimated them and succumbed to the pressure. Origen are definitely a strong team, but it’s interesting to see how they did really well on the scoreboard in the final game, while the rest of the series saw fewer kills and deaths overall. This could have been Rogue cracking under the pressure, or getting tilted/tired. If G2 suddenly returns to form, this could go very well for them, but if not, Origen might be able to wear them down.

If G2 does well, you can expect good showings from Jankos, Perkz, and Caps. They are definitely the stars of G2, and under normal circumstances they score high. If their performance is more like their game against Mad Lions, Perkz and Jankos definitely had their games, but they wouldn’t be worth the cost, and Caps really fell apart. Origen, meanwhile, saw their best on Nukeduck, Alphari, and UpseT. Seeing as it took them 3 games to really dominate, they could very well crumble against G2. Ultimately, it might be premature to count G2 out. These games do happen and this team is still very good.

TSM(-192) V FLY(+146)  (4 PM EST)

TSM’s matchup against 100T was fairly close, although that was to be expected. Meanwhile, FLY managed to 3-0 Golden Guardians, a considerably worse team. Some of the lineups might be close, but overall team play is likely to result in a TSM victory. The only issue is it might not be the victory we are looking for here at Game On.

Brokenblade is one of the better top laners for NA, although he won’t always be guaranteed to score high. Dardoch has great potential if they give him a damage dealing jungle rather than a tank, although their composition doesn’t always allow him to grab the kills, particularly with Bjergsen and Broken Blade around him. Bjergsen is definitely a safe bet for a mid laner, and the TSM bot lane isn’t too special, although Biofrost does have a good assist record. However, with PowerOfEvil (an EU player who moved to NA) in the mid lane on FLY, there could be a serious fight for mid control this series. Santorin generally plays tanks, and with V1per switching out with solo constantly top might not be a great focus for FLY. PowerOfEvil and WildTurtle would be the safest picks, although TSM’s lineup is stronger overall and more likely to shut down FLY’s damage dealers.
TSM Top Picks: Broken Blade, Bjergsen, Biofrost FLY Top Picks: PowerOfEvil, WildTurtle, IgNar
