4.15.20 LOL LPL/LCK Slate

JD and BLG swept yesterday while VG and SN played a much more competitive 2-1 series in SN’s favor. It was a relatively low scoring and exciting day for fantasy but you can check out our daily rewind for more analysis of yesterday’s slate. This upcoming set of 6 games covers both LPL and LCK and has both fun battles and big favorites.

Gen.G come into this game as solid favorites and have advantages across the board in terms of objectives. Their team spot is reasonably priced on this slate with larger favorites elsewhere and could be a solid pivot to save the salary for your heavy hitters. KT is hard to target with these slights and their team spot should be avoided unless your gut is telling you otherwise.

If Gen.G wins this game, as they should, it should be run through the top of the map, away from KT’s strong bot play. Despite their recent defeat to HLE, Gen.G still look strong going into this matchup. Bdd and Clid both looked primed for solid matchups in their respective positions and their high kill participation percentages show that they are the focal point of this Gen.G roster’s gameplan. For KT to stay competitive and even upset, Aiming will have to pop off in a big way and we may look at using him as a one off in some lineups if the salaries work out.

Gen.G Top Picks: Bdd, Clid   KT Rolster Top Picks: Aiming

EDG is a slight favorite over OMG but this feels like a spot for a close series or upset. Both teams have had decent recent success but there’s not a lot to be excited about from the team spots for DFS given their relatively low objective numbers. The pace looks okay and it should be fine to target a few players here but there are no likely homerun picks at first glance.

Hope has a good track record when EDG have done well, making him the most expensive pick of the slate.  Their win isn’t guaranteed, but considering EDG’s performance in comparison to OMG, the chances of a fed Hope or even a fed Scout look promising. Even Jiejie can get in on the action, but like Hope, he is the most expensive jungler in the slate. Scout sits at a slightly cheaper salary, but is still a hefty investment. Still, if EDG do deliver as expected, any of these 3 could be very rewarding. Meanwhile, if OMG manages to upset, H4cker and icon could prove to be a threatening duo.

EG Top Picks: Jiejie, Scout, Hope  OMG Top Picks: H4cker, icon

As far as victories are concerned, T1 look to be strong favorites despite AF’s recent comeback. However, it is worth noting T1’s inconsistency over the past few weeks, with weaker matches against Damwon Gaming and kt Rolster. If AF comes prepared, they could very well take down T1.

Jelly68.70%2.741.21

Canna, Faker, and Teddy have had good records in the games they win, although some of these matchups are against weaker teams. AF have been looking better, even taking a game off of DragonX in their latest series. ALL iN had some great performances on Galio especially, and Jelly is a fairly consistent support. AF’s Kiin, Spirit, and Mystic might do well, but given the uncertainty of the matchup it might be ill advised to stack these teams

T1 Top Picks: Canna, Faker, Teddy  AF Top Picks: ALL iN, Jelly

DMO’s recent victories are useful for morale, but given they faced V5 and then Suning, it’s not like they had much of a challenge. RNG haven’t fared much better, despite some of the hype surrounding them after defeating JDG, EDG, and eStar a few weeks ago. Their chances against DMO are better than some other matchups, but this could be another sketchy matchup.

Betty73.60%6.158.3
Ming70.40%3.631.91

Xiaohu turned out to be a great pick against LNG, and he could continue his success into this series. XLB’s assist game has been very strong lately, pairing well with the fact he is one of the cheaper junglers. Langx’s best performances were during their winning streak a few wins ago, but Betty has had some great scores, which will be amplified if RNG plays well. Most of RNG’s players are fairly expensive, meaning you have to be careful who you pick, further solidifying XLB as a good pick. As for DMO, they could very well see success in the top and jungle, so keep an eye on Natural and Xiaopeng.

DMO Top Picks: Natural, Xiaopeng  RNG Top Picks: XLB, Xiaohu, Betty, Ming

K+D/Game21.921.4

This matchup isn’t quite as uncertain as some of the others in this slate, so keep that in mind. DWG have had some great victories against teams like T1, although they have been losing fairly recently. Still, against SB, they are looking pretty good.

Dove63.50%3.148.38
Route75.80%3.579.85
GorillA70.80%3.041.08

Ghost has had some consistent scores, but we might just see Nuguri or ShowMaker shine in this series. Their mid and top are more solid than Summit/Dove, and Canyon usually leaves plenty of room for his solo lanes to do well (explaining Canyon’s fairly cheap salary, but unlike XLB, he might not be worth it.) SB, on the other hand, have seen strong performances out of OnFleek when they do well, while Route has had great games in the games they win. If SB does manage to outplay DWG, these two picks could work very nicely, but it is a big if.

DWG Top Picks: Nuguri, ShowMaker, Ghost  SB Top Picks: OnFleek, Route

WE have had a similar story to that of AF in the LCK, having come back strong after a bit of a losing streak before losing to a very strong team. After playing eStar, they have to once again attempt to prove themselves against iG. iG is just so strong, so it would take a lot for WE to overcome this matchup.

jiumeng75.80%4.218.55
Missing75.10%3.481.39

RooKie is definitely something of a gamble, and considering he is the most expensive mid laner, he’s probably not worth it. iG’s strength when winning is usually found in Puff/Southwind, with Leyan doing decently in the jungle and TheShy getting more consistent with his kills. TheShy shines when playing an adc in the top lane, which could very well decimate Morgan. Basically anyone but RooKie, although Leyan isn’t always the strongest jungle pick and could eat up salary that might be better used elsewhere. Meanwhile, Teacherma hasn’t been the strongest mid laner recently, and despite RooKie’s uncertainty as a fantasy pick, he isn’t a bad mid laner. A WE turnaround could also see strength in the bot lane, and beishang would be a potentially worthwhile pick if the team does well, although he is an expensive jungler despite not being favored.
iG Top Picks: TheShy, Puff, Southwind WE Top Picks: beishang, jiumeng, Missing
