I hoped you all stacked the teams that actually played yesterday like we did as that was stupid. That was a great example of how minor some of these games are and how this should not be taken as seriously until major events pop back up for CS. We have 2 separate slates today and we’ll cover them both in this article for the sake of simplicity, with the latter slate being our preference today if you only decide to play 1. The first slate is best of 1 series, so basically a trainwreck. We haven’t been doing rewinds for the past 2 days because honestly, what’s the point with so few games? We might do one for these games and combine the slates for an overall look at performances but even that is kind of lame. Oh well, be careful again with these tournaments and don’t go overboard with teams that might just say screw it and not play at all.
Draftkings’ scoring follows the chart shown below, with a focus on K/D and clutch plays. Rosters are set with a Captain position who receives 1.5x his points at 1.5x his salary, but beyond that it is positionless. This is important to understand because CS teams follow a composition of different roles such as IGL (In game leader), entry fragger, support, etc. With Draftkings making no distinction between players, it is left to you to decide which roles are most important within this scoring system and to take advantage of that. For several teams for example, their IGL is not often going to score highly as they may be less skilled at the game but are valuable in ways that Draftkings doesn’t record. With that in mind, we will jump into a quick look at the roles of key players, their key stats, and how their perceived performance should fare in accordance with their salary.

Our top plays are designed to show the most playable options on each team, factoring in performance and price. The top 2 plays on each team will be in our player pool and the third tier top plays are people we will sprinkle in a bit along with the core group. All of the statistics shown are for the last 3 months to see who has been performing well recently while still keeping a significant sample size. Good luck to everyone and we are always looking for feedback on how to improve the readability of our content!

HooXi | $4800 | 0.92 | 0.58 | 67.30% | 0.85 |
It’s always great to see that a team’s highest priced player on DK (TeSeS) left the team weeks ago and was included for no logical reason. We haven’t seen this team compete without him yet, but it wasn’t pretty recently with him and now they’ve downgraded to Queenix. This is likely a situation where they get rolled over so we’ll be pretty much avoiding them on this tiny slate. If you build an upset team in a GPP, start with Farlig and close your eyes and click on random other guys.

Gambit is in a great position here and will be highly owned on our small slate. Sh1ro, nafany, and Ax1LE are all playable but are certainly priced in a difficult way. Sh1ro is the easy top play of the 3 and we honestly prefer them in the order they are priced. The trick here may be figuring out how to have all 3 and not break the bank.

This matchup should be much more competitive than the other and once Vertigo and Inferno are banned, their map pools will be pretty even with a slight edge to SKADE. They lost 2-0 last time they played but both maps went to overtime and Inferno wasn’t removed from the pool. Robiin, CRUC1AL, and Thomas all played well there and have been solid recently outside of a terrible performance against Wisla. Thomas has been the least consistent of the group despite being the highest priced here. We’d rather take the savings that CRUC1AL provides and then sprinkle in some robiin and Surreal. They are a risky stack as they could lose, but if they keep it close like last time we should still see solid numbers from the top performers, albeit with limited upside.

SPELLAN | $5400 | 0.98 | 0.61 | 67.00% | 1 |
Rainwaker and dennyslaw are the obvious combo play here. They usually are the 1a and 1b for the team when they win. Dennyslaw is our preference given the price differential and if you’re looking for a top guy for a captain position that price difference is exaggerated even further. If you want a 3rd guy to team stack here, rafftu makes the most sense and dropping down to the other guys likely limits your upside and that’s a tough choice with 2 games on this slate.

tlntw | $5200 | 0.92 | 0.62 | 67.00% | 0.82 |
This looks like it should be a toss-up series and that’s always fun but difficult for DFA purposes. Martin is the most consistent player here but has not flashed much flashy upside that we want from his $8600 salary. WANGJ has been in great form recently and his cheap price tag should help him stand out well if he performs in a close series. MAD seems overpriced entirely and tlntw is terrible.

qqGod | $5000 | 1.05 | 0.72 | 70.40% | 1.15 |
Olivia is normally at the top of Beyond’s scoreboard and has the matchup to be there again. He’s one of the safer high-priced options on this small slate and even in a loss he should provide solid value. With the dropping of foxz, they have a new player in qqGod on this team that we haven’t seen play with them before. That being said, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to look at his stats and realize he’s entirely too cheap for his upside. We will use him as salary relief here and there and hope he meshes well and doesn’t seem lost with his new squad.

SHOOWTiME | $4800 | 1.02 | 0.64 | 72.20% | 0.94 |
Imperial are solid underdogs here according to gg.bet despite looking evenly matched on paper. DelboNi has been their best player recently and his very cheap price makes him a great value option on a slate where value is a tough find. This matchup increases the risk for that play but you gotta gamble with so few players to choose from. After getting swept in their last matchup with paiN, they will likely be under owned and a rebound (it was not a blowout despite a sweep) could give you an advantage with low ownerships.

NEKIZ | $5600 | 1 | 0.57 | 69.10% | 0.91 |
PaiN players are priced like they are going to stomp in this series and feature a few of the most expensive options on the slate. They did sweep this same IMP team in their last meeting and even NEKIZ popped off there. Everyone on this team can be played without much hesitation if you believe they will perform well again. Weighing upside versus salary, NEKIZ’ domination last time was most likely a fluke and other players could get baited into playing him hard. Bet on their more consistent, top line performers to lead the way this time around and sprinkle in some NEKIZ for exposure beyond that.
