4.18.20 CSGO Slate

We have only a single game for us on Saturday, along with a brand new scoring system that will screw up everything we’ve all learned so far, so hooray. Game length adjustments are no longer a thing, replaced by .5 for every round not played and 5 points for a sweep. So it doesn’t matter if you’re s1mple or Boombl4, you get 20 fantasy points as a bonus for sweeping and the losing players still get 15! This is beyond stupid to us as the top players are basically neutered by this system and the Tyloos of the CS world get an inexplicable boost. Today’s slate also shows two captain slots so managing salary will be fun (but not difficult at all honestly). This will be a better series to watch than to bet on, but we’ll have some fun with it. Stay safe and game on.

Draftkings’ scoring follows the chart shown below, with a focus on K/D and clutch plays. Rosters are set with a Captain position who receives 1.5x his points at 1.5x his salary, but beyond that it is positionless. This is important to understand because CS teams follow a composition of different roles such as IGL (In game leader), entry fragger, support, etc. With Draftkings making no distinction between players, it is left to you to decide which roles are most important within this scoring system and to take advantage of that. For several teams for example, their IGL is not often going to score highly as they may be less skilled at the game but are valuable in ways that Draftkings doesn’t record. With that in mind, we will jump into a quick look at the roles of key players, their key stats, and how their perceived performance should fare in accordance with their salary.

StatisticFantasy Points*Players drafted as Captain earn 1.5x fantasy point values

Our top plays are designed to show the most playable options on each team, factoring in performance and price. The top 2 plays on each team will be in our player pool and the third tier top plays are people we will sprinkle in a bit along with the core group. All of the statistics shown are for the last 3 months to see who has been performing well recently while still keeping a significant sample size. Good luck to everyone and we are always looking for feedback on how to improve the readability of our content!

HAVU(+118) V MAD(-154) (3:00 PM EST)

The winner of this series goes on to play MiBR on Sunday and this should be a good series. These teams have played each other twice recently with MAD sweeping one series and HAVU taking the other 2-1. With the new scoring in place, it honestly doesn’t matter if a sweep occurs again because everyone gets almost the same bonus for some reason. ZOREE did great in the series they won, but struggled in the series that saw them get swept. They lost mirage in both series and should ban it here instead of inferno to try to not 3-peat. SLowi did well in both series and should be able to hold his own or top frag here again. He and ZOREE make for the best plays on this side of the coin, but in a 1 game slate you should play with some other people too if you shoot for glory in a GPP.

Top Plays: sLowi, ZOREE, doto

MAD has clearly played this team well and should be able to take home this one as well, likely in 3 games. One player significantly outperformed the others in the last two showings against HAVU and that was acoR, going  +23 and +13. His price will make him one of the highest owned players on the slate to make salaries work out and you have to fade him at your own risk. His play style and their consistent map selection should put him in another spot to succeed here despite his low salary suggesting otherwise. Sjuush is our other favorite player here given his recent form and prior success in this matchup and pairing him with acoR makes a lot of sense to balance out salaries.

Top plays: acoR/sjuush, Bubzkji
