4.21.20 CSGO LOOT Slate

Only 2 games are happening on the global CS scene on this slate, a nice reprieve before we jump back into many more contests starting Wednesday. Both games feature a bunch of losers you have never heard of but they should both be close series, which is fun. Wednesday is when a bunch of decent teams start picking back up again so that’s what we are all waiting for. Take it easy here and wait till then before playing a bunch. Stay safe, good luck, and game on.

Draftkings’ scoring follows the chart shown below, with a focus on K/D and clutch plays. Rosters are set with a Captain position who receives 1.5x his points at 1.5x his salary, but beyond that it is positionless. This is important to understand because CS teams follow a composition of different roles such as IGL (In game leader), entry fragger, support, etc. With Draftkings making no distinction between players, it is left to you to decide which roles are most important within this scoring system and to take advantage of that. For several teams for example, their IGL is not often going to score highly as they may be less skilled at the game but are valuable in ways that Draftkings doesn’t record. With that in mind, we will jump into a quick look at the roles of key players, their key stats, and how their perceived performance should fare in accordance with their salary.

Our top plays are designed to show the most playable options on each team, factoring in performance and price. The top 2 plays on each team will be in our player pool and the third tier top plays are people we will sprinkle in a bit along with the core group. All of the statistics shown are for the last 3 months to see who has been performing well recently while still keeping a significant sample size.

Every team on this slate is priced almost identically and with both series being toss-ups, picking the winning sides will be very important towards choosing which guys we play. Team Japaleno (not a typo) has been led by FREDDyFROG and he comes into this series in good form. Thus have a few things in their favor which is why they are the slight favorite, but their map pool relative to Nemiga is concerning. They will likely be forced into playing either Mirage or Vertigo which should be an easy win for Nemiga. If they win here, it’ll likely be 2-1 but they have struggled recently. We are going to call this as a Nemiga upset and choose players accordingly. Beyond FREDDyFROG here, there is not much to be excited about. Relaxa is the only other guy we can conceivably play here and even then we will mostly stay away.

Top Plays: No first, FREDDyFROG, Relaxa

If Nemiga wins, it will likely be a team effort as we usually see from a group like Astralis. This is a nicely balanced team and anybody can top frag but speed4k and lollipop21k both tend to lead and have been in good form. BoX has had some nice performances recently and is available at a solid discount. This is one of those teams we will have a good amount of exposure to and are worth rostering if you believe in an upset like we do. This series should come down to map selection and they have an advantage there if they play it right.

Top plays: speed4k/lollipop21k, boX, Jyo

HL(-112) V SEC(-115) (8:00 AM EST)

This is a fun series matchup and Hard Legion usually always bans Nuke which happens to be Secret’s favorite map. Unfortunately for HL, we don’t have many other positives to say about them and will give the nod to Secret here. Krad has actually been their best performing player recently and he’s discounted here, relative to Forester. Forester still has upside but his price limits his impact. Syvat hasn’t been terrible recently and could be an interesting part fo a 3 stack if you expect a win here. These guys are all a bit pricey for a prickly matchup and we will be cautious as such.

Top plays: Krad, Forester, svyat

In a Secret victory here, anarkez should be a star. He’s been consistently good recently and has solid upside as well. We like pairing him with a few different options here as this is a decent squad with a balanced approach. TudsoN and juanflantroo have been playing good CS recently and will be our next two targets. Sinnopsyy has been okay and PERCY has been up and down. Both could be third options, but we’ll probably leave PERCY alone and look for other guys in that price range.

Top plays: anarkez, juanflantroo/tudsoN, sinnopsyy
