4.23.20 LOL LPL Fanduel Slate

Most of these articles have been for Draftkings slates, although they can be used for Fanduel as well. Pricing isn’t always the same, and Fanduel has some slight differences in their rules, but it’s still the same teams, so what we write should translate well. Draftkings doesn’t have a slate for the LPL playoff match tomorrow, so we’re using Fanduel. The rules we always include will be Fanduels, rather than Draftkings, so you’ll see exactly what is different. Also, seeing as it’s only one series, it’s not the usual Captain/Roster setup. There’s an MVP who gets 2x points, a STAR who gets 1.5x points, and 3 UTIL spots. You still can’t stack roles, so only one adc can be placed as UTIL; the other must be an MVP or STAR.

EDG(-115) V RNG(-112)  (5 AM EST)

Avg. Game Length33:3133:58

Before the LPL moves onto WE’s next opponent, RNG and EDG have to duke it out to see if they will advance. Both teams recently had some pretty bad losses, EDG having suffered at the hands of WE and RNG pretty much losing for the past 2 weeks (they beat LNG last Monday, but honestly who cares.) So EDG are natural favorites going into this, but as always, keep an open mind. RNG are making their last stand here, so you never know if they’ll come into this matchup prepared and energized.

We talked about RNG’s losing streak above, and it isn’t a great sign, but there is a silver lining here: RNG’s scores have been pretty good throughout their losses. Some games saw pretty devastating deaths on RNG, but there were a number of matches where Xiaohu managed to go positive in defeat. Looking at the scoreboard alone, you’d think RNG won some of those matches. EDG are still a strong team, but as far as kills go, RNG may very well pull through even without taking the series. This would make Xiaohu a potential MVP or STAR spot regardless of RNG’s chances (remember you need players from both teams to enter.). It is a bit risky, but Xiaohu is a solid player, and there are other decent areas of focus on EDG to make up for it: mainly Aodi, Hope, and meiko. Scout is a good mid laner, so maybe even include both mid laners for your lineup, but remember that EDG won’t do much for you if they can’t close their games out against RNG. If this is the case, Betty and Ming would be additional great choices.
EDG Top Picks: Aodi, Scout, Hope, meiko RNG Top Picks: Xiaohu, Betty, Ming
