The LPL series in this slate includes the grand finals, a matchup we have covered here, so we’ll be reviewing the CBLOL matchups in this article. There are a few different slates including this matchup, so there’s definitely a lot riding on the outcome of this series. The remaining matches focus on the CBLOL playoffs, featuring the 4 best Brazilian teams LOL has to offer. If you’re feeling confident about the grand finals, you can focus on the players from JDG or TES, or you can ignore it entirely and go for the Brazilian teams. Just remember, the two teams in the finals are incredibly skilled, so there’s potential for very high scores for either team.

VK(-208) V KBM(+157) (12 PM EST 5/2)

Interestingly enough, VK have lost their last 2 matches against KBM. In fact, VK’s most recent games haven’t been too great, but considering they had already made the playoffs before playing some of those matches, they might have been trying not to burn themselves out. Still, this isn’t the best team against the worst team here, as KBM had an incredible 6 series winning streak to close out the split, and it’s definitely well deserved. VK are the favorites here, and rightly so based on how they’ve played all split, but be prepared for anything.
Top lane has been in KBM’s favor for the past 3 games, even when losing. Parang has had some of the highest scores against this team, and his performances outside of VK matches have been solid as well. Games where he hits 10 kills have been against RDP, so don’t expect that, but unless VK makes a concentrated effort to shut down top lane early, Parang has potential. Considering he sits at a $5800 salary, he could be a wonderful investment. As for the remaining lanes, things look generally favored towards VK’s players, although DudsTheBoy will likely do extremely well if KBM rally around him. If VK do target top lane to shut down Parang, this will give DudsTheBoy a lot of room, but chances are VK won’t risk letting bot lane get out of control. Dragons are too essential, and a fed/farmed adc is just too scary. As for support, Professor is a Yuumi fan, so if KBM let that through then expect high assists on him, although he is the most expensive support in the slate, costing as much as Parang.
VK Top Picks: Grell, NOsFerus, Klaus, Professor KBM Top Picks: Parang, Wiz, DudsTheBoy
FLA(-312) V FUR(+225) (12 PM EST 5/3)
|Avg. Game Length||34:53||35:19|
FUR have done well for themselves this split, but their chances against FLA aren’t looking as great. They haven’t been able to overcome the stronger teams in the CBLOL, despite racking up some kills for themselves. Strategy and team synergy are likely to keep FUR from prevailing here, so we may see some decent performances out of the players, but FLA are definitely looking good.
FLA’s players are great in their roles, but maybe they should stick to them. The last game of the split for FLA was against INTZ, and they decided to switch things up by having their mid laner play Lee Sin jungle, their jungler play Ezreal ad carry, and their adc play Ryze mid lane. This was obviously an experimental game, as it was the last game of the split against one of the weaker teams, but it will be interesting to see if they try it again. They had pretty good success with Absolut on Ryze, but the other two picks didn’t work well, so you should expect the players to play what they are used to.
With that being said, FLA have had some great results, especially in top, jungle, and adc. If you want to put a lot of money into the top lane, then WooFe would be a fantastic pick, although there might be some more cost saving options elsewhere in the slate. Goku has had some sketchy performances when the team doesn’t play well, usually racking up multiple deaths, but against FUR he has far more potential to shine. Even in the game FUR defeated FLA, it dragged on until the 46 minute mark, and FUR had champions like Vladimir who could dominate the game at that stage. Chances are FLA won’t let that happen again.
FLA Top Picks: WooFe, Ranger, Goku, Absolut FUR Top Picks: Minerva, Anyyy, Alternative
