Given some of the performances from certain teams in this slate, this becomes a very strange series of games. After FPX lost in such a fashion, it makes you wonder just what will happen. Without that strangeness, however, this becomes a very straightforward slate. We’ll take a look and see if you should expect any more craziness.

RNG(-) V LNG(+) (5 AM EST)
|Avg. Game Length||33:50||32:19|
This should be a no brainer. LNG saw some success with Maple, mostly thanks to FPX playing like complete garbage, but RNG is just a much more solid team. They’ve been looking really good so far this split, although they haven’t faced one of the powerhouse teams yet. This is going to be their simplest matchup by far, so the odds are definitely in their favor. Just be wary of the upset; we’ve seen it all too often so far.
RNG Top Picks:
XLB has proven to be a complete monster so far in the split, so you’ll want to be sure you keep him on your radar. New is solid, but it’s entirely possible chenlun17 will have some more decent games on his own while his team falls apart. If LNG does well, chenlun17 has been pretty good, and Maple of course is the star. However, an RNG victory is more likely, with many players working well. Only issue is they are the most expensive players in the entire slate, so it’ll be hard to pair them with FPX. If that’s your goal, taking Khan over New is especially good, and you’ll want to think about making XLB a captain. 2 ADCS is always nice, but will lead to sacrificing positions entirely when you need players from the 2 most expensive teams. There are a lot of ways to get creative, and a jungle captain is a fairly viable approach in this scenario.
FPX(-) V BLG(+) (7 AM EST)
|Avg. Game Length||31:47||33:53|
Given it was FPX’s 1st series, we’re inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. That being said, what the hell. You can’t really attribute that victory to LNG because they would’ve had no chance if FPX wasn’t just messing around entirely. At this point, fading them might seem incredibly tempting, but just because they had one awful performance doesn’t mean they will replicate it for the next few matchups. Not to mention BLG isn’t the strongest team either, so FPX have a chance to recover and take things a bit more seriously.
FPX Top Picks
It’s a bit difficult to choose the BLG players given how they played against VG. Let’s just say we’re 100% going to leave out kingen after that Maokai and Camille performance. The Maokai made absolutely 0 sense, which could be the coach being stupid, but we’ll probably never know. As for the Camille pick, that was just bad on so many levels. At any rate, not much to be impressed about with this roster, but those picks are the most likely to succeed in a BLG victory against FPX.
FPX… assuming things go the way they should, there are some crazy picks here. As mentioned above, Khan is a great choice for top as he is cheaper than New and more reliable overall. Tian would be great if you do go the double jungler route; an XLB/Tian lineup has so much potential it’s crazy. The rest of the roster is worth choosing considering we could see a complete stomp here. That’s the main issue: are they going to get their heads in the game, or will we see another disaster? If FPX come to play and are done having fun, this could be an insane game to stack, but after losing to LNG it’s hard to give it to them right away. However, it’s so tempting given how high they can score if they are putting in sincere effort.
