As expected, TES ended the day with the most solid performance. Interestingly enough, the OMG/LNG games were very intense in kills on both sides, although they didn’t score as high as TES did (even though OMG won 2-0.) Meanwhile, we saw good performances out of both V1PER and Aiming, although V1PER wasn’t a great pick due to HLE losing 0-2, and the SP/DYN series saw 3 games. But hey, Rich had a good game on someone that wasn’t Aatrox, so good for him!

DRX(-1000) V SB(+541) (4 AM EST)
|Avg. Game Length||32:45||33:37|
There are definitely some strange pricing decisions in this slate on both contests, with DK a bit more all over the place. It all starts with DRX vs SB, an LCK game that looks like the most obvious matchup of the slate. These players are expensive across the board on DK, although the most expensive players are spread across 3 different teams, yet FD priced the DRX lineup fairly cheap considering their opponent. It’s doubtful SB will stand a chance against DRX here, so it really makes you wonder what exactly FD is going for. The one argument to be made is the potential found in the LPL matchups, and that’s certainly a viable way to go, but regardless of that DRX remains a tempting option.
DRX Top Picks:
Honestly not much to say about these picks. SB is too weak to justify going for in this matchup, and for the FD players, it’s not like salary is a major issue. Just be mindful of the LPL games; they are going to be more challenging to analyze, but they could lead to far more profitable rewards. Still, if you’re making multiple lineups, throwing in a DRX heavy team is worth experimenting with.
RNG(-222) V V5(+166) (5 AM EST)
|Avg. Game Length||32:11||31:12|
This is going to be V5’s most challenging matchup yet, and it’s sure to be exciting. Both teams have been performing well, but V5 is the real comeback story and they’re looking really good going into this matchup. Still, don’t underestimate RNG too much. There are certainly weaknesses for V5 to exploit, but it remains to be seen if they are up to the challenge. Let’s see if we can’t make that question a bit easier to answer.
RNG Top Picks
We’ve seen a lot of Renekton games on Biubiu so far, so it’s possible RNG will force Biubiu onto a different role. Regardless of this, the matchup into New is sure to be one of V5’s stronger points, so they should be taking advantage of that (so long as SamD isn’t left out to dry.) Given how cheap the V5 roster is, we’ve prioritized their players in this matchup, but RNG is a solid team so think twice before scooping up the V5 roster. Our RNG picks will serve you well, but they are fairly expensive on DK and FD so you’ll have to work around that. Still, you’re not necessarily wasting money on picks that won’t work out; RNG is a solid team and these players have been performing very well. It’s just that the V5 upset is definitely possible here and could lead to phenomenal scores.
FPX(-182) V iG(+138) (7 AM EST)
|Avg. Game Length||31:49||32:21|
Another intense matchup. iG has been looking better and better, although dropping 2 games against LGD doesn’t help their case. Still, those games were close, so don’t rule them out right away. The only issue is that FPX is stronger than LGD and could mop the floor with iG here. Even if they’ve improved, it’s uncertain how well they’ll stand up against the better teams in the LPL… but we’re about to find out.
FPX Top Picks:
So Khan is obvious given he’s up against TheShy, and the others are going to succeed in the case of an FPX victory regardless. Doinb is another decent pick for this team, but we didn’t include him in case RooKie continues to dominate the mid lane, as we might see Doinb playing a more supportive role in this scenario. As for iG, the picks are a bit light, although if you’re prioritizing iG then remember to pick up Puff as well. We won’t include him as FPX looks better to take this series… really doesn’t help iG is still being a bit held back by their top lane.
What’s good about the iG upset, however, is salary. FPX is a very expensive team to grab, yet another reason we didn’t include Doinb. If you believe in the upset then an iG roster will be easy to acquire for sure, and for those who want to follow the crowd, it might be impossible to include 2 ADCS from the favored teams in this slate. That’s why the upsets look especially attractive here, as V5 and iG are both capable of incredible things when they perform.
DWG(+107) V GEN(-139) (7 AM EST)
|Avg. Game Length||33:31||33:34|
This is yet another uncertain matchup, although perhaps a bit less exciting given the other games we have in this slate. So far, GEN dropped a series to DRX and lost one match against KT, while DWG has been flawless. This would be more impressive if DWG had faced the same caliber of teams as GEN, so honestly the pricing is a bit odd. DWG is certainly capable of doing very well, but GEN is a tough nut to crack and their chances of winning and outperforming the other teams in the slate just aren’t too high.
DWG Top Picks:
We’re a bit lacking in picks here simply because this matchup isn’t as attractive. ShowMaker has been phenomenal so far this split, but he might not perform to his usual level against Bdd. Clid and Ruler are good choices in the case of a GEN win, but it’s not really ideal to grab 4 members of one team here. If either team scores higher than the rest of the slate, that’ll be a bit shocking. There is some great competition here, especially given the other LCK matchup is incredibly one sided. Use these guys as supplemental picks if you want as that could help with salary, but be wary about going all in on this matchup.
