06.28.20 CSGO Summit

Does anybody else miss Fanduel too? They are able to put an NBA slate up a month in advance but are still ignoring all the CS games going on everyday…oh well. Draftkings still loves us and they are covering 4 games again with the same old teams we’ve been sweating over the past few days. Betting odds are making each matchup seem really tight so let’s dive in and see if that’s the case. Good luck and game on.

Draftkings’ scoring follows the chart shown below, with a focus on K/D and clutch plays. Rosters are set with a Captain position who receives 1.5x his points at 1.5x his salary, but beyond that it is positionless. This is important to understand because CS teams follow a composition of different roles such as IGL (In game leader), entry fragger, support, etc. With Draftkings making no distinction between players, it is left to you to decide which roles are most important within this scoring system and to take advantage of that. For several teams for example, their IGL is not often going to score highly as they may be less skilled at the game but are valuable in ways that Draftkings doesn’t record. With that in mind, we will jump into a quick look at the roles of key players, their key stats, and how their perceived performance should fare in accordance with their salary.

Fanduel has 6 slots for a captain, 4 standard players, and a team. The captain position does not affect a player’s salary like it does on Draftkings. This is particularly advantageous for when you have an inkling that a superstar will put up a large performance but you don’t want to limit your options elsewhere. The team slot will be a lot of fun for those situations where you like a team to win but don’t like the fantasy prospects of any particular players so you can still get some exposure. We figure most users will try to pick the cheapest winning team because a lot of the stats you get points for are hard to predict, but a winning team should definitely fare better.

Our top plays are designed to show the most playable options on each team, factoring in performance and price. The top 2 plays on each team will be in our player pool and the third tier top plays are people we will sprinkle in a bit along with the core group. All of the statistics shown are for the last 3 months to see who has been performing well recently while still keeping a significant sample size.

ENCE(+118) V Heroic(-154) (12:00 PM EST)

PlayerDK SalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundKASTImpact

These guys just played a few days ago and ENCE was demolished despite picking up a map. Sergej was the only player on the team to end up going positive and they looked totally outmatched. It’s hard to imagine we’ll see something much different a few days later, these guys face a daunting task in overcoming Heroic. Poor xSeven wasn’t even included in DK’s system today haha.

Heroic’s masterful performance against ENCE saw them blow it on ENCE’s map pick while only dropping 13 rounds combined on the other two. It’s hard to imagine them being that dominant again but we all clearly saw that they can handle these guys and are well suited to win here again, perhaps in dominant fashion once again.

BIG(-139) V FaZe(+107) (12:00 PM EST)

PlayerDK SalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundKASTImpact

BIG is facing their favorite opponent once again! FaZe has not been able to figure these guys out at all, with BIG sweeping them 3 times since the 9th. These maps haven’t even been particularly close and these guys are in a nice position to dominate for DFS.

FaZe should be as low owned here as they ever have been as they cannot mount any sort of comeback against these guys. They have seen them a lot now and get another chance for redemption but it’s hard to see a reason to expect them to pull it out. No matter what maps they play or what strats they try, nothing has worked so far.

FURIA has distinguished themselves as arguably the best team in the Americas and their beatdowns of Liquid help solidify that standing. If they keep this momentum going, this is a rare team that we could look to 3 stack if all 3 stars join in the fun here.

GenG(+104) V Cloud9(-135) (6:00 PM EST)

PlayerDK SalaryRating 2.0Kills/RoundKASTImpact

GenG is continuing our trend today by playing a team that they have struggled to figure out. Their map pool aligns horribly with C9, with their top map being auto-banned from the beginning. They were swept in both recent series and only autimatic did well, somehow going +10 and +11 while the rest of his team floundered.

Floppy has led the way for C9 against GenG and has kept up his great recent play. We are pretty high on these guys to win but of all the favorites today, this team is not super exciting from a DFS standpoint. This series should be pretty close and ceilings don’t look as high as other options today.
