A quick glance already screams “STACK LPL PLAYERS” for this slate. After looking deeper into it, we’ve come to the elegant conclusion that you should indeed stack LPL players. Still, not like you can get very far if you choose a JackeyLove/LokeN combo; you’ll run out of salary way too quickly. So let’s get into it.

DRX(-625) V KT(+393) (4 AM EST)
|Avg. Game Length||31:42||33:23|
One of the problems for our slate is the LCK matchups. They are closer than the LPL matchups since it would be almost impossible for the LPL matchups to be any more one-sided than they already are. However, we still have 2 very strong LCK teams fighting some rather inconsistent opponents. DRX/KT starts it out with a fairly reassuring victory over KT, though it isn’t a clear 2-0. Still, you’re going to need players from either this or the GEN/DYN if you’re going to pull off a decent lineup, so let’s have a look.

KT Top Picks:
Deft is a solid choice, but it seems illogical to use him in place of LokeN or JackeyLove in this particular slate. He might be alright if you use one of those adcs as Captain and Deft for your regular slot, but Deft isn’t exactly cheap enough to make that work all that well. Given this is more likely to end on Game 3, Deft wouldn’t see as much value here. The others are meant for padding your lineup to save salary. They have a decent chance to do fairly well, and you must also remember the team slot. We don’t recommend an LPL team slot this slate (unless you’re going for the chance of an upset) so a DRX team slot wouldn’t be the worst idea. It’s also the cheapest team slots out of the favorites, so that makes it particularly attractive.
Bono isn’t a bad choice if you believe in the upset, and he’ll certainly save you salary. We included Aiming simply to re emphasize his value to the team, though do not sub out JackeyLove or LokeN if you’re going with the LPL favorites. This is more of an honorary pick than anything else. KT did defeat DragonX the first time around this split with some decent scores when all was said and done, so this is the most likely upset of the slate, but it’s still problematic with the sub risk. An interesting lineup might be Aiming as adc and then stack as many LPL players as possible everywhere else (with LokeN or Jackey as Captain) but that’s definitely risky.

TES Top Picks
Salary issues with TES are even worse in this slate, but they’re going up against the worst LPL team at the moment so you’ll want to include carries. If you don’t have Knight or JackeyLove, you could be missing out on some huge potential. There’s always the chance they end the games too quickly for meaningful kills to be had, but it’s more likely they’ll drag it out a little bit and prioritize fun and flashy plays just because they can. You might want to save TOP/SUP for some salary saving options rather than going in on 369 or yuyanjia, although yuyanjia is especially tempting given the high assist potential. Still, you can only have so much.
We will say that JackeyLove hasn’t been as on point in some of the more recent games, with a 4/6/12 victory standing out against VG. We would be remiss to remove his name for this reason, but maybe LokeN is the bigger focus (cheaper than Jackey on FD, more expensive on DK.) However, this is DMO, so that could all be meaningless.

JDG Top Picks:
LNG Top Picks:
This is a difficult one. Kanavi has some phenomenal potential and is sure to perform well, so don’t think you should ignore him based on this pick list. It’s more about providing emphasis for the other JDG damage dealers. If you aren’t using top for a salary saving role, Zoom is a great choice. Meanwhile, Yagao has been on fire recently having an amazing performance against FPX. Maple is one of LNG’s greatest assets, so that might slow him down a tad, but don’t overestimate that dynamics influence on Yagao’s final score. Meanwhile, LokeN is actually more expensive than JackeyLove on DK, as his performances have been very consistent lately. Either way, you should have either LokeN or Jackey. Taking both will result in completely sacrificing other roles, and it’s doubtful they’ll score well enough to make up for that scenario, and taking neither is just insane.
GEN(-909) V DYN(+509) (7 AM EST)
|Avg. Game Length||31:22||32:41|
GEN does look good here, but as with our other LCK matchup, a DYN victory isn’t out of the question (although it’s unlikely.) Still, an ideal scenario would be grabbing as few DYN or KT players as possible and stacking the rest with TES/JDG monsters, but we can’t ignore the strengths of GEN and DRX going into this. Their biggest weaknesses as teams haven’t been constantly dropping matches for horrible reasons; it’s been weak scores, something which doesn’t bode well for our purposes. Still, even a bad GEN win is better than a great DYN loss. Great defeats usually mean a few kills, 0 deaths, and up to 2 assists for a player, which is abysmal.
GEN Top Picks:
DYN Top Picks:
Grabbing an LCK mid lane isn’t as taboo as an LCK adc for this slate, so Bdd remains an option (like Chovy.) The only difference between GEN and DRX would be top over support; Rascal is a great option into someone like Rich while DRX’s Keria is a more solid pick since there is some sub risk for GEN’s supports, Life and Kellin.
Meanwhile, aside from a surprising upset against T1, DYN has been on a bit of a downward surge for a while now. They started out so strong, but they weren’t fighting great teams either. It’s worth noting Ruler had an exceptional performance against DYN the first time around, so literally any other series of matchups with the LPL and we’d have him as a huge pick here. He could honestly still be an alternative if you went with something similar to the Aiming/LPL lineup we discussed earlier, but again: risky.
