Another 2 gamer, and it’s going to be an interesting one. We’ve got one very obvious matchup (wouldn’t it be just insane if JDG lost here?) and one very close matchup. You’ll be spending a lot of salary on the expensive one and won’t have too much of a difference to work with for the second, so lineups could be a bit tricky to create. It’s all about fitting in the key players you want and making sure your remaining picks will net enough value to make it worthwhile, so there should be a lot of different options here. Let’s get into it.

ES(+509) V JDG(-909) (5 AM EST)
|Avg. Game Length||32:33||31:38|
ES continues to disappoint this season, having only won a single series since mid June (and that victory was a 2-1 against OMG, so not a huge win for them.) An expensive JDG lineup isn’t surprising to begin with, but it makes even more sense here. Pretty standard series.

JDG Top Picks:
Can’t go wrong with the JDG lineup, and you’ll want to fit as many of these players as you can. As usual, it’s doubtful you’ll get all 4 of these picks into your lineup, but work some of them in as you see fit. They’re all worthwhile so get creative. As for ES, we’ll throw in CJJ as a potential pick in case of the random upset, or if JDG just shows up to lose tomorrow. He might not even be the worst one off if you need a very cheap top laner; if he does well enough in an 0-2 situation, you could save enough salary to pick up other great players most lineups won’t have, which could put you over (this might work especially well on FD.) But that’s a risk since we don’t have much to go on here, his only game this season was a loss against LGD and it didn’t go too well.
LGD(+104) V FPX(-135) (7 AM EST)
|Avg. Game Length||33:12||31:24|
We’ve got 2 solid teams here, so this will be the matchup to decide the slate. It’s very likely the winning lineup will have a nice chunk of JDG players reinforced by either key LGD or FPX picks, so this one is important. Ideally LGD would be the best option given they’ve got great players and are cheaper overall, although not by much given this is going to be a close matchup. Still, the salary adds up when you’re saving roughly 200 per player.
It’s actually very interesting FPX is favored on both sites given they are technically behind LGD right now, although not by much. They definitely had a better performance last split, but it’s been made clear that no team is necessarily beholden to their performance in the spring. This might make LGD the ideal choice, but you cannot rule out FPX by any means. They’ve had some sloppy losses to be sure, but they are still a force to be reckoned with, so don’t blindly invest in the “underdog” and expect phenomenal results. Not to mention FPX has been winning recently with the addition of GimGoon, so beware.

FPX Top Picks
Picks are going to be fairly heavy this slate given the nature of this second matchup, so it’s important to choose a side. GimGoon could continue to add to FPX’s success lately, but we aren’t including him since his scores haven’t necessarily broken the bank; he doesn’t have to be scoring higher than his team in order to be making a considerable difference for FPX’s chances. Besides, you’ll want to save the salary for the other FPX members, but if you’ve managed to build a solid lineup and need a top laner, GimGoon is fine if you can afford him. Langx is in a similar position; LGD has other priority picks but he can serve you well. This could very well be a slate for the top laners, with some of them at least pulling through and not dying too often.
The other picks are fairly obvious and have been chosen many times before, but you’ll still have trouble fitting them in. These picks are meant to reflect ideal choices; in a 2 gamer you won’t be able to afford them all. Honestly you generally won’t be able to afford all of the ideal picks in any contest outside of the LEC, but it’s more difficult here. 2 adcs might be difficult to grab, but it might not be the end of the world if you don’t do it in a JDG/FPX lineup. Lwx doesn’t exactly break the bank even in a win, while Kramer has been more consistent. A jungler Captain isn’t a bad idea here, particularly with Kanavi and Tian/Peanut in the mix. Still, definitely stack JDG players as best as you can, which might include taking your top laner from this matchup. Zoom is the ideal choice, thus why he is a pick and Langx/GimGoon aren’t, but the other picks shouldn’t be brushed aside so you can focus on top lane.
